Santa Monica, California – MTV announced that the finale to this season’s “Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew” (ABDC) will air as the lead-in to the “2011 MTV Movie Awards.” The 90-minute special episode, “ABDC Finale at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards Red Carpet,” will crown the winning dance crew and feature live hits from the “2011 MTV Movie Awards” red carpet on Sunday, June 5, at 7:30pm ET/PT.

In between the ABDC action, fans will be brought LIVE to the Red Carpet to see Emma Stone and Tom Felton introduce two never-before-seen clips from summer movies The Help and Rise of the Planet of the Apes respectively, catch an interview with the cast of MTV’s new series Teen Wolf, and watch a special “Movie Awards” themed “After Hours” – featuring MTV News Josh Horowitz’s rocky journey to the red carpet with special appearances by Eva Mendes, Keanu Reeves, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Danny McBride, Jennifer Lawrence and James McAvoy – and more.

Immediately following the special, MTV will present the “2011 MTV Movie Awards” broadcasting LIVE from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, CA on Sunday, June 5 at 9pm ET/8pm CT.

IaMmE Houston, Texas This crew originated in Houston, with members from around the globe, including China and the Czech Republic. They are ready to bring their talents and experiences together to be the next best dance crew.

ICONic Boyz English Town, New Jersey With a member of the crew as young as 10 years old, these boys will the youngest dancers to ever compete on the “Dance Crew” stage as they hope to impress the crowd with their unique style of hip hop and street jazz. While most young boys take up sports like football, baseball and basketball, this crew has been pursuing dancing. They may be a bunch of little “Italian boyz” from New Jersey, but they can hang with the best and are not afraid of a fight!

Instant Noodles Los Angeles, California This group is based in Los Angeles, but their roots are in Taipei, Taiwan. Sharing not only a country of origin but a love for dance, the crew aims to inspire future generations of b-boys while remaining true to their craft in building a distinctive and entertaining style that showcases their groundbreaking dance skills. This crew is ready to tear up the dance floor stage and show America how it’s done.

JAG6ED Crenshaw, California From roller skates to jump ropes, past dance crews have proved that nearly anything can be incorporated into hip hop dance as long as it is done with style. These California girls from Crenshaw, a district in Los Angeles, are a contemporary pole-dance crew, fusing the art of dance with aerial pole work. The sexy and sophisticated six-member crew strives to break the negative image of pole dance and reconstruct it as an art form.

Eclectic Gentlemen North Hollywood, California The dancers that make up this crew have taught workshops and toured with musical artists around the world, however, they aspire to reach a higher level – and gain recognition in the dance industry. With their focus on being clean cut and well dressed, these suave dancers from North Hollywood bring a unique professional style to the stage; they are sure to wow the judges and viewers, and maybe steal a few hearts.

Phunk Phenomenon Boston, Massachusetts Composed of New England’s finest male and female dancers, the Phunk Phenomenon is a company of unique multi-ethnic and multi-cultural urban artists who create an intriguing blend of modern and traditional dance styles. The end result is a provocative dance performance with a unique synthesis of style and appearance. In addition to fighting for the title of “America’s Best Dance Crew,” Phunk Phenomenon is also fighting to raise awareness for Sanfilippo syndrome, a rare disease that is afflicting the son of the crew’s founder back home in Boston.

ReQuest Auckland, New Zealand Flying across the globe from New Zealand, this group of females are currently riding high as the 2010 – 2011 World Hip Hope Dance Champions – whose members are Kiwi, Samoan, Chinese, Maori, Rarotongan, Japanese, Hawaiian and Portuguese – are a melting pot of many cultures. Though made up of many cultures, this crew is brought together by the culture of hip hop dance and hopes to inspire women around the world to get up and dance.

Street Kingdom Los Angeles, California Having experienced rough inner city life in Los Angeles, this co-ed dance crew knows the meaning of hardship. From there it’s up to you. We want to know all about your crew. Take us through your day. Show us your rehearsals. Tell us why your crew should be on the show? Why are you the crew to beat? When did you fall in love with Hip Hop?

All application materials will become the property of Producer and will not be returned. Applicants will be contacted only if Producer is considering the applicant as a potential participant on the program. Any expenses that an applicant may incur during the application process are the applicant’s sole responsibility.

By submitting your application and video, you understand and agree that Producer shall have the right to use your name, likeness and voice as contained in the video footage in the show worldwide, in perpetuity, in all media, now known or hereafter developed.

Crews considered for participation on the show will be flown to Los Angeles for a final audition and selection.

All Five “ABDC” Winning Crews Return to Perform Together for the First Time Ever and to Honor Five of DoSomething.org’s Most Dedicated Young Activists

NEW YORK, New York (April 14, 2010) – MTV today announced that it is partnering with the teen volunteer organization DoSomething.org to air the first-ever charitable episode of its hit reality dance competition series from Warner Horizon Television – “Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew” – LIVE on Thursday, April 15th at 10 p.m. ET/(tape delay) PT. In a landmark “ABDC” event, ALL five previous “ABDC”-winning crews will return to perform and to honor five of DoSomething.org’s most dedicated young social activists for their incredible contributions to their communities. “America’s Best Dance Crew” and DoSomething.org will highlight the causes of these five young people, and the network will reward each of their organizations with cash donations to help augment their efforts. The JabbaWockeeZ, Super Cr3w, Quest Crew, We Are Heroes and Poreotix will perform together and will also be partnered with a youth volunteer whose charity they will learn about through hands-on work with the organization, later performing exhibition routines in their honor.

Marvelyn contracted HIV through unsafe sex and is now a dedicated activist for HIV/AIDS prevention and education. Through her non-profit organization Marvelous Connections, she has given a voice to the rapidly rising number of women afflicted with both diseases in the United States. She has appeared on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” CNN and multiple other media programs and outlets in support of these efforts. She has spoken to over a half million people globally to date, 200,000 of which went on to be tested for HIV/AIDS after listening to her speak. Her goal is to continue using her personal story of contraction to educate others and, ultimately, stop the spread of HIV/AIDS.

Josh Sundquist, 25 (Washington D.C.)

Josh is a cancer survivor, amputee and Paralympic skier who created the social networking site Less Than Four, where amputees can ask questions, get answers and develop a community. Josh competed in the 2006 Paralympics in Turin, Italy, and has been published in The Washington Post, Daily Guideposts, the Richmond Times and Current, Newsweek’s college magazine. Additionally, his memoir, Just Don’t Fall, was release through Viking/Penguin in January of this year.

Jordan Coleman, 14 (Hackensack, NJ)

After learning that less than half of African-American males graduate from high-school, Jordan developed and released the film “Say It Loud” to promote the importance of education. He took the film on a seven-city tour and continues to spread his message at community centers and schools across the country. He was also the only young person invited to speak alongside notable community activists Al Sharpton and Wyclef Jean at the Education Equality Rally during the Obama presidential inauguration.

Sarah Cronk, 16 (Bettendorf, IA)

Sarah started one of the country’s first cheerleading squads for students with special needs – the Spartan Sparkles – and went on to co-found the non-profit organization The Sparkle Effect, which aims to inspire and empower high-school cheerleaders across the country to start their own squads for individuals with special needs.

Jackie Rothman, 18 (Santa Barbara, CA)

Jackie created Everybody Dance Now (EDN!) to provide a healthy outlet to the nearly 2,000 Santa Barbara-area youths who are considered at-risk to join local gangs. Through dance classes, the organization provides young people a free and compassionate environment away from peer pressure, violence, drugs and alcohol. Jackie has helped over 750 local Santa Barbara young people to date and is currently working on expanding EDN! so she can reach more individuals.
