TWELVE ACTS FROM THE YOUTUBE ONLINE AUDITIONS COMPETE LIVE ON NBC’S HIT SUMMER SERIES ‘AMERICA’S GOT TALENT’

Thousands of Acts from Across the Country Submitted Audition Videos to YouTube for Chance to Perform and Compete for $1 Million Prize
Over the past few months, thousands of acts from across the country submitted videos at www.youtube.com/americasgottalent and from these submissions, the show selected 40 acts and the YouTube community picked their favorite — Jackie Evancho, a young opera singer from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Jackie will perform live alongside 11 additional YouTube acts that were selected by the show including:
Austin Anderson – Omaha, Nevada (Comedian)
Booker Forte – Virginia Beach, Virginia (Dancer)
Cam Hodges – Sammamish, Washington (Singer/Guitarist)
Dan Sperry – Las Vegas, Nevada (Magician)
Dylan Plummer – Cincinnati, Ohio (Jump Roper)
Kristina Young – Spearfish, South Dakota (Singer)
Maestro Alexander Bui – Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey (Pianist)
Pup – Oakhurst, California (Musician with Dog Accordion)
Pizza Patt – Columbus, Ohio (Trick Pizza Tosser)
PLUtonic – Tacoma, Washington (A Cappella Group)
Ryan Rodriguez – Santa Cruz, California (Dancer)
On the Wednesday, August 11 (9-10 p.m. ET) live results show, four acts from Tuesday’s YouTube performance show will move on to the semi-finals, which begin August 24 (9-11 p.m. ET).
So far this summer, “America’s Got Talent” is the #1 primetime series on the major networks in adults 18-49 (tie) and total viewers, with the Tuesday telecast averaging a 3.5 rating in 18-49, tied for #1, and the Wednesday telecast delivering an average 12.1 million persons, #1 outright in that category. An edition of “America’s Got Talent” has ranked #1 among non-sports programs in total viewers every week the show has aired this summer, a streak that’s now reached nine weeks in a row. This is the fourth consecutive year that “Talent” has ranked #1 among summer series in total viewers.
In its fifth season, “America’s Got Talent,” airs Tuesdays (9-11 p.m. ET) and Wednesdays (9-10 p.m. ET) on NBC. Nick Cannon hosts. Sharon Osbourne, Howie Mandel and Piers Morgan star as the celebrity panel of judges. The series is a true celebration of the American spirit, featuring a colorful array of hopeful stars, including singers, dancers, comedians, contortionists, impressionists, jugglers, magicians and ventriloquists, all vying for their chance to strut and perform on stage hoping to win America’s hearts – and the $1 million prize.
