Ratings Report: Canada’s Next Top Model First With Young Viewers

Toronto, ON - The series premiere of CANADA’S NEXT TOP MODEL on CTV last night was the #1 program on Canadian television last night for its target audience, A18-34.* In all, 694,000 viewers watched the premiere episode, preliminary overnight data reveals, making it one of the most-watched premieres of an original Canadian program this season. CANADA’S NEXT TOP MODEL was the #1 non-sports program from 8 - 9 p.m. among A18-34, A18-49 and A25-54.

Also to note, CANADA’S NEXT TOP MODEL:

* won its timeslot against a simulcast encore of NCIS (Global/CBS) by 158% (A18-34); 48% (A18-49) and 20% (A25-54);
* had double-digit growth from its first half-hour to the second among A18-34 (+32%; A18-49 (+26%) and A25-54 (+22%);
* was the most-watched among four premieres last night on Canadian television in the key demos, with CANADA’S NEXT TOP MODEL (377,000) outranking MENTAL (Global/FOX, 9-10 p.m., 273,000) by 38% among A18-49.
*700,000 watch premiere episode; wins timeslot in key adult demos

In last night’s episode, Tiffany from Toronto was the first girl eliminated from the competition. In an unexpected turn of events, Alexandra from Penticton, BC withdrew herself from the competition due to ongoing pain from a previous injury.

Viewers who missed the premiere of Canada’s Next Top Model can watch encore presentations on Star! and FashionTelevisionChannel at 9 p.m. ET on Wednesdays, 10 p.m. ET Thursdays on MTV, and a special 10 p.m. ET Sunday night catch-up broadcast on ‘A’. Episode 2, which follows the girls through their highly anticipated makeovers, airs Tuesday, June 2 at 8 p.m. ET on CTV (visit CTV.ca to confirm local broadcast times).
