SEASON FINALE
“AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL” (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET)
“America’s Next Top Model Is…” CYCLE 12 WINNER IS ANNOUNCED
Three semi-finalists complete their CoverGirl commercial and, ultimately, only two are left standing. The two finalists shoot their Seventeen magazine cover, then show the judges their fiercest moves when they, literally, crawl down the final runway. Upon announcing America’s Next Top Model, Tyra and the lucky girl celebrate the moment with a photo shoot (#1212).
Last week the girls arrived at Águia de Ouro and met Paulina where they learned the steps in samba dance. The next day, they were put to the test and had to create an illusion of having a good time through the dance that they had learned. Celia managed to relax her face and deliver a convincing performance, winning her jewelry from Ara Vartanian worth over $7,000, which she shared with Allison.
For the photo shoot, the girls traveled to the Brazilian jungle where they were dressed as exotic birds sitting in their nests. Allison’s composure on set got praised and Celia was lauded for looking fresh and being creative. On the other hand, Aminat’s inability to use her face to catch the light impeded her performance while Teyona struggled against various elements during her photo shoot.
At panel, Allison’s photo was deemed the best and she is called first, followed by Teyona, who breaks down due to the overwhelming concern for her overall performance. Aminat’s lack of understanding towards her angles worried the judges and she landed in the bottom two with Celia, who was castigated for looking too mature. However, Aminat was given another chance to prove herself and Celia was sent home.

The participants abilities are tested each week as they strive to master the runway and fashion photo shoots, perfect publicity skills and learn the business aspects of becoming a supermodel, all under 24-hour-a-day surveillance of the AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL cameras. Throughout the series, supermodel Tyra Banks, art director of photo shoots Jay Manuel, and runway guru J. Alexander mentor the participants.
Banks leads the panel of AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL judges, comprised of leading fashion industry experts. The panel consists of supermodel Paulina Porizkova, along with photographer Nigel Barker and runway expert J. Alexander, who closely evaluate the progress of the models to narrow the field each week. In addition, special guest judges appear to critique the participants within his or her area of expertise.
The winner of The CW’s AMERICAS NEXT TOP MODEL will be managed by Elite Model Management. She also receives a $100,000 contract with cosmetics giant CoverGirl. Finally, the winner will appear on the cover and six-page fashion spread in Seventeen magazine.
AMERICAS NEXT TOP MODEL is produced by 10 by 10 Entertainment, in association with Bankable Productions. Tyra Banks is the creator and executive producer along with Ken Mok (”Making the Band”) and Daniel Soiseth (”Hell’s Kitchen“).
