“AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET)
“Do You Light The Way I Look?”
IT’S ALL ABOUT THE LIGHTING
The girls head to Bergdorff’s in New York City for makeovers! After receiving their new looks, the girls do their first photo session with Nigel Barker and must light themselves up (1203).
Last week after a trip to the roof of the Empire State Building where Celia was handed the key to the house and the right to choose her bed by Nigel and Paulina, the 13 girls move into their New York City loft but quickly realized there were only 12 beds available. Celia took Sandra’s bed, and Sandra was sitting stirring up trouble by claiming it back until London, being the pacifist, gave up hers. Sandra also got angry with the girls for talking while she tried to sleep. The ladies participated in their first fashion show for Abaeté and a confused Sandra did not walk the entire runway. Tahlia’s confidence was crushed when she noticed that she was the only girl who is fully clothed, since the designer didn’t want to expose her scars. They later headed to Central Park for their first photo shoot where they brought well-known childhood games to life.
Allison, Teyona, Fo, Celia and London each impressed the judges with their photos, whilst Sandra, Isabella, Tahlia and Jessica struggled to make it work. Allison’s picture was unanimously rated the best and, just like in Cycle 11, Tyra told her that the picture would be displayed as digital art in their house. The bottom two came down to Isabella and Sandra, where, despite Sandra’s poor performances on the runway and in the photoshoot, Isabella was eliminated for failing to stand out at the judging panel.

The participants abilities are tested each week as they strive to master the runway and fashion photo shoots, perfect publicity skills and learn the business aspects of becoming a supermodel, all under 24-hour-a-day surveillance of the AMERICAS NEXT TOP MODEL cameras. Throughout the series, supermodel Tyra Banks, art director of photo shoots Jay Manuel, and runway guru J. Alexander mentor the participants.
Banks leads the panel of AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL judges, comprised of leading fashion industry experts. The panel consists of supermodel Paulina Porizkova, along with photographer Nigel Barker and runway expert J. Alexander, who closely evaluate the progress of the models to narrow the field each week. In addition, special guest judges appear to critique the participants within his or her area of expertise.
The winner of The CW’s AMERICAS NEXT TOP MODEL will be managed by Elite Model Management. She also receives a $100,000 contract with cosmetics giant CoverGirl. Finally, the winner will appear on the cover and six-page fashion spread in Seventeen magazine.
