This week on The Biggest Loser Mike’s weigh in from week 9 was revealed to be 11 pounds. Because the contestants have lost more than 77 pounds combined, they all are safe and no one was eliminated for week 9. However, because there is no elimination, Week 10 began immediately. As a twist for the week, elimination will be based on contests between two individuals, one from each team. Whoever has the higher percentage weight loss will get one point for their team and the first team to reach three points will be safe from elimination.
Next there is a pop-challenge: contestants have a wall-sit while balancing a medicine ball on their laps–the winner will decide the matchups. Tara won the challenge and therefore was allowed to choose the match-ups for the upcoming elimination. Because the Black Team has one more member, one person from the team would not have a match-up. Tara’s choices were: Mike vs. Cathy, Sione vs. Mandi, Filipe vs. Kristin, Helen vs. Ron, and Laura vs. Aubrey, with herself being exempt from any face-off.
Shortly thereafter, they had a reward challenge–a relay race with medicine balls at a 24 Hour Fitness. The Black Team won, and received the prize of “24 hours of luxury” at a spa. While there, the team ate over 15,000 calories total, and many of them drank and smoked as well.
Meanwhile, the Blue Team worked out and ate a healthy, low calorie dinner. The next morning, the Black team wasn’t feeling well, and was sluggish from the fatty foods and alcohol they had consumed. When they got back to the ranch, Helen said that they should conceal from Jillian their gorging. But Jillian had already been informed of the events via crew members, and reamed out the team for their irresponsibility. Filipe got angry and had an emotional confrontation with Jillian, in which he complained that the real problem was that she won’t work with him and he felt rejected. He stormed out and Sione followed. They approached Bob and told them about their confrontation, and asked him to train them; Bob agreed.
At the weigh-in, many of the Black Team were shocked at their poor performance–Filipe lost only one pound, and Tara lost nothing. But the Black team won the weigh-in 3-2. The three original Bob team members who are on the Blue Team–Cathy, Kristin, and Ron–have been voting as a bloc, and they decided to vote off Mandi, a former Jillian team member, because their only other option was her sister Aubrey, but they feel Aubrey needed the ranch more than Mandi. Laura still has an extra vote that she won the previous week, so she and Mandi and Aubrey decided to vote for Cathy, which will cause a tie and force the Black Team to decide who to vote off. The Black Team has decided to vote off Aubrey, as she is a bigger threat than Mandi, and also, since the former Bob Team members of the Black Team are sticking together, they don’t have the votes to vote off Kristin, Cathy, or Ron. At the elimination, Mandi got three votes as expected and Laura and Aubrey vote for Cathy, as promised. However, Mandi, in an emotional twist, decided she couldn’t vote her sister off because her sister needed this more, despite her sister’s assurance that she would be fine with being voted off, and so Mandi instead voted for Ron, ensuring that she (Mandi) would go home.
In The Biggest Loser Transformation Moment we see that when Mandi arrived at the ranch, she weighed 263 pounds and she left weighing 197 pounds. She started at size 26 and she hopes to get down to a size 2. She has lost 84 pounds since coming onto show.
