Shannon Fluet-Lazard, 28, a “Project Runway” model and clothing designer, nine months pregnant was rushed to her doctor due to dangerously high blood pressure and cramping. She appeared in both the second and third seasons of the reality TV series Project Runway.

Ulster County, NY (PRWEB) February 2, 2009 — Shannon Fluet-Lazard, 28, a “Project Runway” model and clothing designer, nine months pregnant, was rushed to her doctor due to dangerously high blood pressure and cramping. The onset occurred during an interview with Justin Lazard, 42, philanthropist and former actor/ model. The interview was in regard to misdemeanor charges against Lazard in Lake County, California. The newlyweds’, expecting their first child, are under severe stress due to the media circus surrounding the case.

Mrs. Fluet-Lazard’s doctor, Dr. Ira Jaffe, stated her blood pressure suddenly spiked on January 25, and has steadily risen ever since. He believes it is due to extreme stress in an otherwise perfectly healthy pregnancy. Late Saturday night the doctor became alarmed as it reached at an unusually high level. Her doctor is presently monitoring Mrs. Fluet-Lazard at an undisclosed location. Labor induction or an emergency caesarian are being contemplated.

In a January 23rd Lakeport County News article, written by Elizabeth Larson (http://lakeconews.com/content/view/7075/764/) stating the charge against Lazard, in the Superior Court of the State of California, County of Lake, court case #06070664, were “molesting a child” (California Penal Code 288), which is a felony. The actual charges are “indecent exposure” (California Penal Code, 314.1) and “publicly exposing his person and private parts, where persons present may be offended or annoyed” (California Penal Code 647.a). Both are lesser charges — misdemeanors.

On January 25, the TMZ website alluded to the Lakeport County News article, where the news allegedly spread to international outlets.

Moreover, former Lakeport District Attorney, Kevin Burke, who was originally assigned the case, was of the opinion the charges should not have been pursued. “Mr. Lazard was not in his right mind at the time of the occurrence, the medical records are well documented, and has had no further incidents”.

But current Deputy District Attorney, Edward Borg, who took over the case when Burke retired, is on the other hand, moving forward and fighting a requested continuance for the February 10th appearance.

Having spent most of his life supporting philanthropic efforts, Mr. Lazard, is credited with funding a home for underprivileged children living in the barrio of Santo Domingo; he has been a long time supporter and contributor to St. Jude’s hospital; he has financed and actively participates in, The Queens Family Football Organization, in New York dedicated to the instruction of young people in the sport of football; as well as the Run to Daylight Program-which has been committed to young men, who have tested and been accepted, into excellent schools since 1957. With the support of Lazard, this was the first year they were able to send the young men to camp, according to spokesman Tim Cavanaugh. Lazard also contracted Vito Parisi of Creative Playthings, to build a $30,000 children’s playground as a gift to Lakeport County, which had its ribbon cutting ceremony on January 21st, of this year.

According to Lazard, “I wanted to do this as a compensation for my embarrassing and shameful actions during a time of my own severe mental instability”.
