Strike A Pose! CTV Announces First-Ever CANADA’S NEXT TOP MODEL Nation-Wide Casting Tour
- Five-city casting tour begins January 16 in Vancouver with stops in Edmonton, Halifax, Montreal, and Toronto -
Toronto, ON (January 9, 2008) - Dream of strutting on the runway? The chance is closer than ever as CTV brings the catwalk to malls across the country in a CANADA’S NEXT TOP MODEL first. CTV announced today details for the first-ever, regional open casting tour. Girls with hopes of jumpstarting their modelling career have another great opportunity to prove they have what it takes to be Canada’s next ‘IT” girl. Set to strut from coast-to-coast, the five-city tour hits malls nationwide beginning Friday, January 16 at the Brentwood Town Centre in Vancouver. As announced last night on ETALK, the tour also includes stops in Edmonton, Halifax and Montreal, before concluding in Toronto on January 23. Nearly 4,000 applications from across the country have already been submitted to date online (another TOP MODEL first) and by mail. Now, even more will throw their hat into the ring. But in the end, only 10 women will be chosen to compete on-air.
“CTV aims to identify and nurture raw Canadian talent, so it is only fitting that CANADA’S NEXT TOP MODEL would trade the catwalk for the sidewalk in search of a new crop of undiscovered talent,” said Susanne Boyce, President, Creative, Content and Channels, CTV Inc. “By introducing online applications this year and going coast to coast, on tour, we have broadened the application process to provide even more model hopefuls this amazing opportunity.”
