“EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION’S” TY PENNINGTON TAKES VIEWERS BEHIND THE SCENES IN HIS FIRST NETWORK SPECIAL
Ty Pennington, designer, author and irrepressible host of the Emmy Award-winning reality hit “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” takes a brief break from life on the road to host his first network special, “Ty Pennington: Behind the Scenes,” airing SUNDAY, DECEMBER 7 (7:00-8:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
After clocking in 1,825 days, 43,800 hours, 100,000 miles, 6 seasons and making over 133 homes (by Christmas) in the 50 states across America, Ty Pennington has helped transform the lives of dozens while inspiring millions more with his work on the popular Sunday night series. Before hitting the road again to the next door knock, Ty takes some time out to reflect back on his favorite moments from the show, revealing behind the scenes footage and sharing some of the funniest moments, bloopers and near-miss design disasters that happened off camera. The one hour program will juxtapose his high-energy duties as the show’s team captain with a candid look at his own home, lifestyle and down time with his family and friends to reveal what makes Ty tick and what inspires him. At the end of the special, Ty pays it forward to a group of military families by delivering them special gifts and some holiday cheer.
The special is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. It’s executive-produced by Denise Cramsey. David Goldberg is the president of Endemol USA. This program carries a TV-PG parental guideline.
“Ty Pennington: Behind the Scenes” will be available on ABC.com the day after airing on the network for users to watch online.
