MTV Tr3s Keeps it Pimpin’ as Season Three of ‘Pimpeando’ Returns

Joining the New Season as Host is Latin Hip-Hop Artist Omar Cruz

NEW YORK, Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ — MTV Tr3s hit car culture series “Pimpeando” is back with a new season and a fresh dose of street cred from its new host, Los Angeles native and B.Y.I. / Interscope recording artist, Omar Cruz. Premiering October 20th, 2008 at 4PM and 9PM ET/PT, the 8 one-hour episodes provide a Latin perspective on car culture. From 26″ wheels to lowrider bicycles, race cars and the latest car gadgets, this season of, this season of “Pimpeando” gives viewers a lesson in finding the hottest rims, takes a glimpse into the world of car clubs, shares what girls really think about cars and gives fans a taste of what is feels like to ride in the hottest extreme sports cars in desert dirt racing and drifting.

Highlighted with professionals, experts and car lovers, Rollerz Only Founder and CEO, Troy Staehler; IndiCar Series racer, Milka Duno; and Drifting Professional Driver, Chris Forsberg are just a few of the special guests set to make appearances this season.

MTV Tr3s is also giving fans 24/7 access to “Pimpeando.” Starting October 20th, users can log onto http://www.pimpeando.mtvtr3s.com to answer questions on car topics, such as rims, low-riding, car clubs, and best rides in a car culture quiz to determine their true “car expert” status. Viewers can also head to the site to catch sneak peeks day of show and full episodes a week after it airs, as well as see bonus footage, exclusive interviews and check out photos from each episode, the cast and special guests. Also, fans on the go can catch full episodes on all wireless carrier partners and online through syndication partners.

Born to a Colombian father and a Mexican mother, Cruz grew up listening to the sounds of his parents’ homelands, but at age 10 he discovered the street cadences of N.W.A., Big Daddy Kane, Rakim and the Beastie Boys. While in high school, Cruz started rapping, and after a fate encounter with industry impresario Luis “LuLu” Torres, he began honing his craft and recording. After a couple of years of selling his CDs in LA, he began making a name for himself on the streets of L.A. as an MC and artist. Already signed to B.Y.I., opportunity came knocking after the 2005 release of his mix tape, City of Gods, where Cruz’s lyrical style and content caught the attention of industry executives, and in 2006 he signed a joint contract with B.Y.I. and Interscope and Geffen. Look for Omar Cruz’s debut album ‘The Sign Of The Cruz’ to be in stores early 2009. The video for his first single ‘To The Top’ which features Latin R&B sensation Frankie J was recently shot in Los Angeles and directed by Wilmer Valderrama (That 70′s Show).
