‘HGTV Design Star’ Casting Call Kicks Off Online
Network Already Receiving Audition Videos and Photos From Designers, Artists and Builders With “Design Star” Aspirations
Knoxville, Tenn. (For Immediate Release – September 24, 2008) The excitement of HGTV Design Star’s third season is still in the air as HGTV gears up for a fourth season of its hugely popular reality competition. With more than 33 million viewers to date, the show’s producers announced the next nationwide search for talented designers, artists and builders who believe they have the design skills and on-camera charisma to host their own HGTV show. The network will accept submissions for the fourth season postmarked between today and October 31, 2008. Viewers can get applications, entry rules and additional information about the search by visiting HGTV.com/DesignStar.
“Potential finalists must exhibit extraordinary design talent and possess a confident on-camera presence,” said James Bolosh, vice president, event programming, HGTV. “This competition is not for the faint of heart. If there’s a designer out there who thinks they can prove their star quality, then their dream of hosting their own show can become a reality.”
The fourth season of HGTV Design Star, premiering in summer 2009, promises fans lots of new and exciting twists and turns and even more tantalizing design challenges that will inspire imaginative and innovative room designs.
Previous HGTV Design Star winners, David Bromstad and Kim Myles, have become popular household names with their own weekly series, Color Splash and Myles of Style. The newest Design Star, Jennifer Bertrand, has been added to the network’s talent roster and will be seen on HGTV in 2009.
