Tonight all the power belongs to the possessor of the little golden medallion. Who will win it and what will they choose to do with it?
The night opens with Jerry interviewing that Dan is still his target. It’s a matter of trust. Memphis informs us that he made his deal to take Jerry to the final two in order to have only one ‘Renegade’ on the block so they both had the potential to stay this week. He reminds us that he also has a final ‘agreement’ to take Keesha to the F2 and a ‘deal’ with Dan for the F2. There is a clear demarcation in Memphis’ mind as to the definitions of ‘agreement’ and ‘deal’ but the logic seems a little murky on the surface.
BB replays part of the nominations. Dan comments that he is “not thrilled” to be nominated, but is glad he is not up against fellow Renegade Memphis. The POV is critical. Jerry re-reiterates that Dan remains his target “as long as Memphis keeps his deal.” Keesha tells us she doesn’t necessarily believe she is not Jerry’s target. Memphis comments that he wants to get rid of Renny because she is the only person left with whom he does not have a F2 deal - or an agreement. It will be ironic if the multiple deal making that got the first HG kicked out this season is what wins the game for another.
Dan, alone in the bedroom, says aloud “Let’s see what the magic man has left in his wand.” He had us all alarmed for a moment, but then gets up and goes next door to see what Keesha thinks about the nominations. She says she “knew it.” Dan replies that they “can both stay here. Think about it.” Keesha harnesses her powers of the obvious to deduce that “either Renny or Memphis would have to go up.” Dan asks if she thinks either of them struck a deal with Jerry. Keesha doesn’t know, but remarks that the two of them are scared and will be fighting just as hard as she and Dan for the POV. Dan asks if Keesha thinks Jerry would replace one of them with Memphis. Keesha thinks he would. If Memphis wins, Jerry will have to put Renny up. Keesha notes that “the only sure thing is getting it yourself.”
Dan goes up to Jerry in HOH to let him know he has “no hard feelings.” Jerry replies “If you gang up on me, I have no choice but to look at that situation. I’m one against four. I would have to be pretty naive to think that now, all of a sudden, you all love me for me.” He continues “Putting you on the block don’t mean s***; it’s all up to POV.” Jerry interviews “Even though I want Dan out of the house, saying that anyone could go covers my alliance with Memphis.” Jerry warns Dan not to depend on his alliance, because now “people can smell that money.”
After beating a hasty retreat from the kitchen, where she has endured a brief discussion of the importance of POV with Jerry, Renny joins Keesha in the skank room and asks how she’s doing. Renny, obviously worried, says that Dan and Memphis would vote her out before Keesha. Keesha replies “You aren’t going to be put up there.” Renny replies that if Memphis won POV and took Dan off, she would have to go up. Keesha says “That’s the only way that could happen. Everybody is pretty vulnerable right now.” Keesha interviews “Renny is already flipping her lid, and I can see the wheels turning in her head. Excuuuuuse me, you’re not the one up on the block!” Keesha tells Renny “the only person you can count on is yourself. If you won it, you’d be fine.” Renny retorts “Have I ever won one before? Uh uh.” Keesha tosses off “There’s always a first time for everything. It’s going to be crazy from here on out - for all of us.” Renny interviews that she is not feeling safe, even though it’s Dan and Keesha who are on the block.
This week’s comic relief comes in the form of a little slapstick, courtesy of Jerry. The three guys are in the backyard when they see some skywriting. They all look up, trying to decipher it. Jerry gets a little over-focused and steps backward into the pool with a big splash. Dan interviews “Jerry falling into the pool was the funniest moment in the BB house.” I don’t know, Dan. You’ve provided some unintentional hilarity yourself that could definitely compete for the title.
In a serious convo on the porch, Memphis tells Jerry he is going to do what benefits himself, but “I made my word to you, and I don’t break my word.” Without a trace of irony, Memphis interviews “I made a deal with three people in this house to go to the final two.” It seems he feels the need to check on these deals on a daily basis. Memphis assures Jerry that “If I’m HOH, there’s no doubt in my mind I will keep you.” Jerry replies “I will not sacrifice you for nothing.” In the next scene, Memphis re-solidifies his ‘agreement’ - not the same as a ‘deal,’ mind you - with Keesha. They both lie that they will be totally happy with ‘50 G’s.’ Memphis informs her that one of them needs to win HOH. Meanwhile, Memphis makes plans with Dan to whip out red Renegade bandannas when they secure their place in the final two. Oooh, that’ll be so totally cool guys! And so shocking! ‘Cause, like, no one suspects you guys are together, right? Cheeseballs.
More comic relief. It seems Dan finds his greatest solace in the house not from his Bible, but from aggravating the hell out of Renny. We see him sneaking up behind her, and imitating her a la his America’s Player predecessor, Eric. Renny interviews “Dan has a few quirks which I don’t understand. He aggravates me sometimes.” Finally Renny’s had enough. She rounds on Dan and chokes him, hard enough that he’s incapable of imitating the move.
Dan joins the rest of his alliance, the Tenacious Trio + Memphis, in the bedroom. An increasingly paranoid Renny says she thinks Dan is out to get her. Dan remarks that they are all in the same boat - the S.S. Jerry. Dan messes with Renny’s head some, interviewing that his plan is to drive Renny insane. It’s working. He is “trying to get her off her game before the POV competition.” Again having had enough of his antics, Renny gets up and leaves the room, but not before smacking Dan, who is lying face down on a bed, on the butt. Hard. “You deserved it!” is her parting shot before she departs in disgust.
Renny interviews “Dan’s being a jackass.” He is “turning up the volume a notch on being immature.” She would really like to see Dan go home. Dan tells Memphis he’s just going to “keep pushing Renny’s buttons.” Memphis interviews that the plan is for him to win POV, take Dan off and send Renny home. Back in the room, Dan remarks to Memphis “If she’s in the final two, she’s going to win.” Memphis agrees “We have to make sure Renny’s on the block.”
Jerry calls everyone in for the veto competition. “I need each of you to go in a different room, and BB will call us out in the yard one at a time.” He interviews “We were all separated in individual rooms where we could not have contact with each other and in any way know what was going on.” Dan comments that he really wants Memphis to win the veto; it’s the only way the two of them can insure their safety.
Dan is called to the back yard first. It’s decked out with oversized nursery items. Dan reads the instructions for the Rock-a-Bye Veto aloud: “Welcome to the BB nursery, where the storks have been busy dropping off babies. The only problem is we need your help figuring out who the parents are. One at a time, a baby picture will be shown on the screen. For each picture, you must decide which two houseguests make up the baby’s face. Once you think you know the answer, hang the names of the two houseguests on the pink answer board and hit the buzzer. If you are correct, a bell will ring and the next baby picture will appear. The player who correctly identifies the parents of all six babies in the shortest amount of time will win the POV.”
Dan screws up the first one. He says April’s name but hangs Libra’s name on the board. He then does what appears to be a pretty fair job, but interviews that he made a lot of mistakes. Jerry’s next. He has a very hard time with the first one but then seems to get the hang of it. He interviews that the people in the house should never reproduce with one another. “It would be terrible to have people like that walking around this earth.” Amen, brother. Memphis is up next. He does well, commenting that the Keesha-Steven combo kid “looks like something you would find in Deliverance, in the back woods.” He’s from Tennessee, and knows of what he speaks.
Renny comes out and stands for awhile just laughing at the first combo kid, which is a terrifying blend of April and Dan. She interviews that she liked her own picture: “What a pretty baby! Oh, that’s my smile!” She thought all the baby combos were “pretty ugly, except for me and Jessie.” She takes forever on Jerry’s combo with Michelle. She recognized Michelle’s eyes immediately, but thought the lips were too full to be Jerry’s, totally ignoring the bald head and white hair. She exhausts every possible option before finally hanging Jerry’s name on the board. Ding! goes the bell, much to her astonishment.
Keesha doesn’t seem to be in a big hurry, either. You’d think these women were in no danger this week. She does alright - certainly better than Renny. Keesha calls her baby picture with Steven “a freakin’ gorilla” and remarks “Steven and I should never have kids together.” The gay rodeo cowboy is no doubt totally okay with that.
Time to reveal the scores (minutes:seconds): Renny 23:32; Jerry 8:01; Dan 2:58; Memphis 2:50; Keesha 5:16.
Memphis interviews “Now that I have POV, I’m thinking of different scenarios; i.e. which word he “would never break” to - well, break. Jerry, astutely untrusting, interviews that he hopes Memphis will stick to his word and keep Dan and Keesha on the block. Dan comments “Memphis winning this veto has put two people in particular into a state of paranoia - Keesha and Renny. If Memphis takes me off, Jerry has no choice but to put up Renny. Jerry has literally no control from this point forward this week.”
Memphis attempts serious discussion with Dan on the back porch. “No matter what happens in the final weeks, you gotta stop these f’in antics if I take you off the block.” Dan asks “Are you talking about the speeches and all that stuff?” Memphis replies “No, I’m not talking about the speeches. I’m just saying don’t pull no crazy s*** next week. I just want to be able to trust you, obviously, ’cause at this point it’s either you or someone else.” Dan, seemingly oblivious to Memphis’ reference to his side deals, replies “Without a doubt. If you took me off, I’m going to take you to the final two.” Memphis interviews that he wants to trust Dan, he really really does - but, well, you know. Back on the porch, Memphis makes Dan promise not to put him up if he wins HOH and to vote out Renny, not Keesha, this week. Memphis explains his logic to Dan: “If it’s us three, she could win. If she leaves, there are four people in this house that are equally hated, and it gives everyone a fair chance of winning.”
Memphis interviews that he is thinking of taking Dan off, but he wants to make sure his deals with Keesha and Jerry are still good. He doesn’t want to anger anyone. Good luck with that, Memphis. Meanwhile, Keesha and Renny are in the kitchen, discussing the boys’ long conversation on the porch. Keesha remarks that Dan is “going to throw us under the bus as much as possible. Little snake.” Renny asks Keesha “What disadvantage would it be to get rid of Dan?” Keesha replies “I don’t think Memphis will get rid of Dan.” Keesha goes on to say that she doesn’t think Memphis cares whether it is she or Renny who goes home this week.
Later in the back yard, Keesha asks Memphis what he is going to do with his POV. He replies “You will be here next week.” He goes on to assure her that if he gets to the last three, “I will take you with me. But the only way for me to do that is to secure that Dan goes with us.” Keesha says “I knew you were going to do that.” Memphis tells Keesha he made Dan swear that if he took him off the block, he would vote the way he wanted him to. “Trust me,” he says. Keesha reminds him “You’re not the person I don’t trust.”
In the kitchen Renny, increasingly shrill with paranoia, tells Memphis “Someone is talking about me.” He answers “No one is talking about you, Renny.” She continues “I’m in the line of fire.” “No one is talking about you, Renny.” She reminds him that she fought for him to stay; she didn’t put him on the block…. “No one is talking about you, Renny.” Renny is not convinced.
On the porch, Jerry asks Memphis straight out what he is going to do with the POV. Memphis replies “No matter what, I’m taking you to the final two.” Jerry sees no reason they can’t get to the end. Jerry notes “Dan is a hell of a competitor, and you can’t trust him.” Memphis replies that he doesn’t trust Dan, but “I just have another issue in this house. I don’t have to tell you who it is; you probably already know.” Jerry says “Yeah, I think so.” He adds that there is time to take care of the “Renny issue” next week. “You will help yourself better if Dan goes. He will absolutely turn on anything.” He continues “I can see Dan winning; I can’t see Renny winning.”
Memphis interviews that taking Dan off the block could be bad for him if Renny and Jerry see it as a threat. How could they not see it as a threat, especially Renny, who then has to go up? Memphis continues “What I do with this veto is probably the most important thing in this game for me. I’ve got all my deals on the table; at this point it’s like being at a fork in the road. Hopefully I’ll pick the right way.” Memphis, remember the advice of the great Yogi Berra: “When you come to a fork in the road - take it.”
Dan tells us that this could be his “greatest escape yet.” Jerry interviews that if Memphis pulls Dan off the block, he no longer has an alliance with him.
Time for the POV meeting. In his plea, Dan asks Memphis “Today is my actual 25th birthday; what better present could I ask for?” Keesha knows this is hard, the four of them have had each other’s back’s for practically the whole game. “I’m not going to ask you to choose.” Memphis says he is going to use the POV, he has been thinking about it a lot, and is “trying to look out for what’s best for me.” He hopes there are no hard feelings. Hope all you want, Memphis. Jerry stares daggers at him as Dan is saved, forcing him to nominate Renny. “Since only one of you remains that’s eligible for eviction, Renny, I have to nominate you.”
Renny, like every other HG who has ever gone up, vows to “go out swinging.” Jerry interviews that Memphis’ actions “hurt me a lot. I had his word this wouldn’t happen.” He vows retribution. Memphis tells us that he still thinks Jerry believes that he will take him to the final two. Dan smugly comments “Sorry, Jerry, you thought you had me in the cross hairs. Guess what? I got out of the way before you pulled the trigger yet again. The Renegades live to fight another day.”
Tune in Thursday to see who will be evicted, who will win HOH, and if Dan finally dislocates his arm from continually patting himself on the back. An added bonus - BB promises to show us “what’s been happening in the jury house.” Keep up on all the news with Media Fiends: MediaFiends.com - Fork You; MediaFiends.com - BB10 LFs: September 3rd; MediaFiends.com Jerry Has a Hissy.
